Maci'sTrip To Emergency Room and Surgery!

Well! Maci tuesday night was jumping off the couch. I didnt think anything of it. I was on the phone with my mom and all of a sudden I heard a scream and a "snap"noise and saw the blind cord flip nack really hard.I ran over to Maci and her right pinky finger was bleeding alot. I noticed her finger tip with her finger nail was on the couch! The whole finger tip with the nail tore off! I grabbed a towel and then called Jordan at his parents. I was so scared! She was crying like crazy! We put her fingertip in a cup of ice and headed to the hospital. We got there and they took her back fast! They looked at it and said "Oh this happens all the time." Oh really! They made it not a big deal! They gave her fingre a digital block shot to numb it and did a xray.

But then the doctor said we are going to have to transport her to Phoenixs Childrens hospital to see a hand surgeon. So I got in the ambulance with her and we went to PHX childrens hospital. We got there and the hand surgeon and staff were getting the Operating Room ready! The doctor came in and said we have to cover her bone and we cannot reattach her fingernail and fingertip! So the doctor and staff took her back to the operating room and a hour and a half at midnight she was done! So she doesnt have a fingertip or finger nail on her right pinky hand. The amputation is up to her first bend/knuckle. I feel terrible about it! Im so sad that she has to go through that and hopefully kids wont make fun of her!

Maci getting ready for surgery! She got this little dog from the hopsital! She loves it!

We see the doctor this Thursday to look at the wound! Hopefully she wont freak out when she sees her fingertip is missing! Im glad it wasnt something more serious! But still its sad!

  2. scary! how is she doing now? it sounds like it was frustrating being told that it happens "all the time" as if they would fix it right up. poor girl! I hope she is coping well and feel great now!
